CHILD’S VIEW
Lwazi, 13, balances a football on his back in Estcourt, a town in KwaZulu-Natal Province of South Africa. The photograph was taken by Amanda Ndlela, 8, one of 20 participants in a UNICEF-organized child photography workshop. Many of the participants have been affected by HIV/AIDS, some are orphans, and most live in poverty. Only one participant had used a camera before. Guided by UNICEF photographer Giacomo Pirozzi, the workshop participants learned basic camera functions and chose to photograph different aspects of daily life in their community.
