Three girls, holding cups of water, smile and laugh at a UNICEF-provided water point at the Baan Nai Rai School in the village of Baan Nai Rai in the southern Pang Nga Province of Thailand. The entire village was devastated in the tsunami of 2004. UNICEF has helped rebuild the community, including houses and roads, and has provided the school with a new nursing unit, water and sanitation facilities, sports equipment, bicycles, books and a variety of school supplies. UNICEF has also funded two new teachers’ salaries.
