Every year multiple natural hazards affect countries in East Asia and the Pacific. Among them is Thailand, one of the most high-risk countries for such emergencies. Promoting appropriate long-term safeguards and adequate responses to environmental threats is part of ensuring a world fit for children. Children walk to an early childhood development centre in Phang Nga Province, an area devastated by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
