UNICEF promotes the rights and wellbeing of every child, in everything we do. Together with our partners, we work in 190 countries and territories to translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded children, to the benefit of all children, everywhere.

Who I Follow

Sudan, March 2011: Grace [NAME CHANGED] covers her face in a dormitory for children rescued from the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), a Ugandan rebel group. She was abducted by the LRA two years ago. “On the way, they separated the men and killed them,” Grace said. “They said if we tried to escape they would kill us.” She was rescued when Ugandan forces attacked the camp in southern Sudan (now South Sudan) where she was being held. With UNICEF support, Grace was reunited with her family.
